The term Podcast is actually a portmanteau of iPod and Broadcast. Podcasting started as mostly an independent way for individuals to get their message out there and build a community of people with similar interests. Put simply, a podcast is a series of episodes.

Today they are more popular now than ever and there are podcasts from individuals, companies, radio networks, TV networks, comedians, storytellers, entrepreneurs, churches, etc.

After this lesson, learners will be able to:

• identify the main styles and genres of podcasts
• Identify the benefits of listening to podcasts
