Imagine this… You’re about the give a presentation in front of 50 people. Or this – It’s your best friend’s wedding and they’ve just asked you to propose a toast and give a maid of honour speech.

Do you immediately feel nervous and want to crawl into a hole? Don’t worry, you are not the only one. There’s even a name for it – glossophobia. Glossophobia or fear of public speaking, is a very common phobia and one that is believed to affect up to 75% of the population.

After this lesson, learners will be able to:

  • understand the physiology and psychology behind public speaking anxiety
  • identify what makes them afraid of speaking in public
  • Identify the steps to give a successful presentation
